Ana Margarida Bento is a PhD fellow of the Doctoral Program FCT – Analysis and Mitigation of Risks in Infrastructures (InfraRisk), developing her work in a partnership between the National Laboratory of Civil Engineering (LNEC) and the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP). She concluded her Integrated Master degree in Civil Engineering (Hydraulic and Water Resources) in 2013 from Instituto Superior Técnico (IST). After graduation, she did an international internship in the Integrated Faculties of Aracruz (Brazil), from IAESTE Portugal. In 2014, she joined the Hydraulic, Water Resources and Environment Division of FEUP as a research fellow in the project NUMPIERS. Her professional interests include fluvial hydraulics, collapse of large infrastructures (dams, bridges), sediment transport mechanics, and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) tools. She is a member of FOAM@PT, Order of Engineers, International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR), and the Portuguese Association of Water Resources (APRH). In 2018, she integrated the direction of the Young Professionals Network of the Portuguese Association of Water Resources (IAHR PT YPN). Ana Margarida is also author and co-author of several national and international peer-reviewed publications.
