SPECIAL OCEANUS SEMINAR SERIES | Yajie Liu | 07 July | 11h30

Title: Pay or No Pay? Anglers’ perceptions to and willingness to pay for salmon management program

Looking for Colaborations

Name: Yajie Liu

Coastal and ocean ecosystems provide multiple valuable ecological, social-economic, cultural, and recreational services for resource users. Marine ecosystems are under increasing pressure and undergo unprecedented changes due to rapid economic development, habitat loss,
environmental degradation, invasive alien species, and climate change. Effective management measures have become essential to protect marine ecosystems while solve resource conflicts. How will resource users perceive ecosystem services, especially those are undermined by
anthropophagical activities? How would management strategies or measures be effective and accepted by stakeholders? I will use recreational fishing in Norway to explore these questions? Fishing salmonids is a very popular recreational activity in the coastal areas and in rivers in Norway.

The seminar will take place at CIIMAR headquarters (Boca da Baleia Auditorium).
