Title: Mobile Labs for the TREC expedition and the European Research Community

 

The European Molecular Biology Laboratory is launching the Traversing Europe's Coastline expedition in April 2023. This expedition will conduct a systematic, standardized, and integrated sampling with multimodal environmental metadata acquisition along the European coastline. To support this research, EMBL is building mobile labs. These Mobile Labs will bring cutting-edge technology into the field, ranging from advanced imaging methods to preparational techniques for cryo-Electron Microscopy and a phenomics platform. The Mobile Lab platform will ensure standardization throughout the expedition, access to cutting edge technology and serve as a platform for outreach and scientific collaboration with EMBL‘s member states. In this talk I will outline the technologies implemented in, and the scientific questions that will be addressed in the mobile labs and the opportunities to access them and collaborate.
