ValorMar project led by Sonae, CIIMAR and Fórum Oceano aims to value marine resources, generating new applications and products for food, biomedical, pharmaceutical & cosmetic industries, through research and development and improvement of production processes using sustainable and efficient technologies.

This project is co-developed by 31 partners which includes 18 entities from the national scientific system, such as CIIMAR, the Universities of Aveiro, Minho, Porto, Algarve and Católica along with the Polytechnics of Viana do Castelo and Leiria, and also 13 different entities such as Sonae, Docapesca, or Soja de Portugal among others, in a diversity of agents representative of the entire marie value chain.

The 8.5 M € project is co-funded by Portugal 2020.
