CIIMAR at the Macau Portuguese School

The Macau Portuguese School invited the researcher from CIIMAR, Cristina Calheiros, to give a talk on how to transform cities more resilient to climate change through nature based solutions such green roofs, wetlands and urban forests. The importance of water cycle and sustainable buildings was also emphasized. The researcher had previously collaborated to the establishment of a vegetable garden in the school and to the development of pedagogic contents.
Cristina also ministers at the University of Saint Joseph - Macau SAR on the Master in Environmental Sciences and Management, she supervised two master thesis on solid waste management in Macau and is now co-supervising a PhD thesis on “Climate Change and Resilient Cities”.
The talk took place on the October 22 at the Macau Portguese School.
