Launch event of Blue Bioeconomics Roadmap for Portugal

The Blue Bioeconomics Roadmap for Portugal, which resulted from a joint work of CIIMAR, BLUEBIO ALLIANCE and Fundação Oceano Azul, was launched today, at the Porto Cruise Terminal, Matosinhos. We counted on the participation of the Minister of the Sea, Eng. Ana Paula Vitorino.
The Blue Bioeconomics Roadmap is an important result of three-year work by the BLUEandGREEN project, approved under the TWINNING projects of the European Horizon 2020 program. The project was coordinated by Vitor Vasconcelos, professor at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto (FCUP) investigator and director of CIIMAR. The objective of this National Marine Bioeconomics Roadmap was to create a platform of opportunities in the field of marine biotechnology in Portugal, which combines laboratories, companies and investments, and that is decisive for the implementation of the European Blue Bio-Economy strategy.
The program of the event included the presentation of the Blue Bioeconomy Roadmap for Portugal by Vítor Vasconcelos and a Roundtable about the challenges and opportunities of the Blue Bioeconomy in Portugal.
