Sherpa do Mar project partners work together to promote technological and scientific synergies

Sherpa do Mar aims to create an euroregional platform in Galicia and northern Portugal for the promotion of competitiveness in the maritime sector through the promotion of technology-based companies with high added value.
The launching of this initiative took place this week in Santiago de Compostela and attended by representatives of the entities involved, led by the REDE group of the University of Vigo. Members of the consortium include reference institutions from Galicia and North of Portugal: Campus do Mar and the Vice-Rectorate for Research, the Vigo Franca Consortium, the Galician Agency for Innovation (GAIN), the University of Santiago de Compostela and A Coruña, the Science and Technology Park of University of Porto (UPTEC), the University of Porto Innovation (U.Porto Innovation), the Interdisciplinary Centre of Marine and Environmental Research (CIIMAR) and the Fórum Ocean - Association of Maritime Economy.
Susana Moreira and Joana Moreira-Silva, from the Science and Innovation Office, attended the first meeting of the consortium.
It is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the POCTEP.
