The CIIMAR project "DEEPbaseline" is one of the winners of the 3rd edition of the Ocean Conservation Fund, funded by the Fundação Oceano Azul and the Oceanário de Lisboa. The announcement ceremony of the winners took place on November 13th at the Oceanarium and was attended by Jane Lubchenco, Petter Heffernan, José Soareas dos Santos from Fundação Oceano Azul.

The third edition of the Ocean Conservation Fund is entitled “Marine invertebrates. Protecting the sea, the future of the Earth” and selected the "DEEPbaseline" project, led by the researcher Joana Xavier in a collaboration between CIIMAR, IPMA and the OKEANOS Research Center of the University of the Azores.
