BluAct is a European project that aims to stimulate sustainable entrepreneurship and the transfer of good practices in the area of the Blue economy, being represented in Portugal by the Municipality of Matosinhos.
The PINKtech technological development project, led by CIIMAR researchers Sara Antunes, Olga Lage, Conceição Marinho and Rita Calisto, intends to use pink bacteria, rich in carotenoids, in order to intensify the color of aquaculture fish, such as salmon, in a natural and healthy way.

The business potential of this project was recognized by the competition jury, being classified in 2nd place, which will allow the team a year of incubation at UPTEC Polo do Mar and integrate a companies acceleration program.
