CIIMAR researcher recognized by the IACOBUS - papers award

CIIMAR researcher Elsa Froufe was recognized by the IACOBUS - papers award in the context of her work "Spatio-temporal microsatellite data suggest a multidirectional connectivity pattern in the Trachurus picturatus metapopulation from the Northeast Atlantic" published in Fisheries Research in earlier 2021 with her colleagues Claudia Moreira, Alberto Correia and Paulo Vaz-Pires.

It is the first time that microsatellites were used to study the connectivity of Trachurus picturatus populations in the NE Atlantic and Mediterranean Sea, as well as the dynamics of their seasonal migrations. The information retrieved from life-cycle markers was also discussed in the light of the new molecular data and showed potential to the study of sustainable management of adult fishing grounds.

The main objective of the IACOBUS - papers award is to encourage cross-border cooperation in research and scientific dissemination activities, through financial aid for the publication of scientific and research articles in some of the journals indexed in the Clarivate Analytics Journal Citation Report (JCR) and, in the areas of humanities, in Scopus®.
