BlueBio4Future training courses at CIIMAR

BlueBio4Future training courses

10th and 11th November 2022 | CIIMAR

The strategic objective of Blue Biotechnology and Bioengineering for Current and Future Development of a Blue Bioeconomy in Portugal – BlueBio4Future – is to place CIIMAR at the forefront of Research, Development and Innovation (R&D&I) in Blue Biotechnology and Bioengineering. With this objective in mind, two courses were held under the auspices of the project on 10 and 11 November, for CIIMAR members.

The first course was dedicated to grant proposal writing, and counted with the participation of CIIMAR researchers Benjamin Costas, Rita Azeredo, Sergio Boo, Pedro Leão, and Vitor Vasconcelos. The course was a success as it was attended by many PhD students at CIIMAR who plan to submit funding proposals.

On Day 2, CIIMAR staff and researchers were invited to learn some of the best project management techniques but also to share their visions on how to improve CIIMAR current practices in project management.

Margarida Costa, who is now employed by Norsk Institutt for Vannforskning in Norway, shared her experience and Susana Moreira, head of CIIMAR’s Science and Innovation Office, guided the brainstorming session. The course ended with some animated discussions on the organization’s current project management procedures with the vow to provide fresh insights and potential improvements.
