The CMM team's main working areas are coastal and estuarine monitoring, modelling and management.
Remote sensing and in-situ data acquired using terrestrial, airborne and shipborne platforms, including UAVs and buoys, and field and laboratory experiments, next to new technologies resulting from the implementation of multi-sensor monitoring systems, are exploited to: study interactions and effects of currents, waves, sea level and sediment dynamics; support numerical and statistical modelling and forecasting; characterize coastal zone evolution; provide coastal risk assessment and allow integrated coastal zone management.
CMM aims to support stakeholders, providing new data, models and tools towards a better integrated management and decision making.
