Diana Resende obtained her BSc in Chemistry from Aveiro University in 2007. She then joined Professor Artur Silva’s group as MSc student working on organocatalytic asymmetric addition of nucleophiles to α,β,ϒ,δ-unsaturated compounds. Her PhD studies proceeded with the synthesis of new heterocyclic compounds and cyclohexane derivatives through organocatalytic and metal-mediated transformations. In 2016 she integrated CIIMAR as a postdoctoral fellow in the group of Prof. Madalena Pinto at the Laboratory of Organic and Pharmaceutical Chemistry of Faculty of Pharmacy, Porto. Her current interests include synthesis of xanthone and quinazoline scaffolds derivatives based on marine natural models with promising biological activities.
