Mariana Catarina Cameira Vaz

Graduated in Marine Biology and Biotechnology (2019), and Master in Aquaculture (2022), by the Escola Superior de Turismo e Tecnologia do Mar, Polytechnic of Leiria. She was a research fellow (MARE - Polytechnic of Leiria) in the BE4AQUAHEALTH project: national screening of aquaculture fish pathologies: a commitment to prevention. She has published 1 article as first author, and 2 articles as co-author, and is one of the authors of the book "Principais Patógenos Que Afetam Peixes Cultivados em Portugal". Author of 1 scientific poster and co-author of 2 scientific posters. During 2022/2023 she taught as a guest lecturer at the Polytechnic of Leiria, Pathology and Immunology of the Master's in Aquaculture, and Animal Welfare of the Professional Technical Course - Production and Maintenance of Aquatic Organisms. She was a research fellow (MARE - Polytechnic of Leiria) of the LUCTA project - Evaluation of the effect of extracts in sea bass infected with nodavirus. She also collaborated in carrying out microbiological analyses integrated in several Master's dissertations in Aquaculture. She is currently a PhD fellowship at CIIMAR in the GRINNAQUA project " Green innovation strategies for animal health management: towards sustainable aquaculture".
