Francisca Isabel da Silva Brito

Born in Santo Tirso, Porto - Portugal, Francisca Silva-Brito has developed a passion for interdisciplinary approaches to solve aquaculture challenge. As part of her Maste studies in fish nutrition, she focuses on studying the impact of vegetable oils on expression levels of key-enzymes linked to long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids biosynthesis, using molecular techniques. She is also interested in seaweeds and their application in aquaculture fish in order to improve health and resistance of fish.
