Marcos Rubal is graduated in Marine Science by the University of Vigo (Spain) in September 2000. After graduation, he completed the master in Biodiversity and Conservation by the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain) in 2003 and finished his PhD degree in Biology from the same university in 2008. Currently, he is a postdoctoral fellow, funded by FCT, at Coastal Biodiversity Laboratory. His main research interests focus on exploring marine benthic biodiversity patterns, their drivers, invertebrate taxonomy (mainly Tardigrades and Peracarid Crustaceans) and their natural history. He has published 43 papers (40 in SCI journals) since 2009.
