Marina Machado graduated in Marine Biology by the IPL-ESTM holds a master's degree in Marine Sciences at ICBAS, University of Porto and a PhD degree in Animal Sciences granted by ICBAS-University of Porto. She is currently and auxiliary researcher in A2S team in the framework of project AQUACOMBINE. She develops research dedicated to the advance of functional feeds as strategies that could contribute to the enhancement of fish and shrimp health and welfare. Nonetheless, most of her research has been focus on the role of amino acids during the inflammatory response, apoptotic mechanisms and disease resistance as a strategy to enhance farmed fish health.
