Maria Paola Tomasino graduated in Environmental Biology in 2009 at University of Bari, Italy and obtained her PhD in 2013 at Tuscia University,  Viterbo,  Italy.  She had a post-doc position at Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn of Naples, Italy, on Molecular biodiversity of Phytoplankton. She is currently working at the CIIMAR (EcoBioTec Laboratory), funded by the Research Project: MarInfo.  Her reaserch is focused on marine microbial biodiversity and ecology through the analysis of metagenomics data (NGS).
