Celso Domingos holds a bachelor degree in Biological Sciences from Estácio de Sá University (2014), and a master from the postgraduate program in Biodiversity and Evolutionary Biology at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2016). His research focusses on taxonomy/systematics of sponges (Classes Homoscleromorpha and Hexactinellida), using integrative approaches that combine morphological, molecular and ecological data. Currently, he’s a PhD student of the doctoral program in Biodiversity, Genetics and Evolution at the University of Porto, investigating the diversity and biogeography of deep-sea glass sponges of the Atlantic Ocean.
