Rute holds a degree in Biology (FCUP) and is taking a Master’s Degree in Marine Sciences- Marine resources (ICBAS-UP). Currently she is working as an aquaculture technician in Aquacria Piscícolas, S.A. (Sea8).  She joined the Animal Health and Aquaculture team in 2018 to develop her master’s thesis work, aiming to investigate the bioactive potential of algae biomasses in the immune status of gilthead seabream. Her main interests are towards fish production, RAS systems and sustainability in aquaculture.
